“It’s the Ugly shoes,” Peggy Oxford laughed, referring to the logo that has made people from Pennsylvania to Florida to Las Vegas remember her. Saddle Oxfords aren’t all that comfortable either, she confessed, but going the extra mile in those shoes is what has taken Peggy to the door of many a sale.
Take 2009, for example. Peggy and Dave Oxford
led Your Oxford Group to be ranked in the top 1% of Realtors in El
Paso, as well as fourth in Keller Williams Realty in total units
sold throughout the region, which includes North Texas, New Mexico,
and Memphis, Tennessee. What does she feel is the reason?
“Personal relationships,” she said thoughtfully. “I feel
comfortable with people of all kinds and personalities.” People she works with seconded that statement. Client/investor Juan Soto offered, “When I’m negotiating for a property at the best price, Peggy doesn’t mind bidding several times. She doesn’t push me to do it her way just to close the deal. Her heart is in what she’s doing, and she’s always positive.” Daniel Tate of DT Home Inspections added, “She’s not just out to make a buck like some agents.” And Angie Bautista of Sierra Title pinpointed Peggy’s professionalism: “She always has everything we need at hand, which makes our job so easy.” “Professional accurately describes Peggy in more than one realm. After being a stay-at-home mom for years, she obtained her CPA in 1990 and served as Chief Financial Officer and Directory of Human Resources for a Japanese firm, Texas ASO. When she earned her real estate license in 2001 and joined Keller Williams Realty, she was designated Rookie of the Year by the end of her first year. By 2010, she ranked #1 in the company in sales for all El Paso. In 2006, Dave Oxford joined his wife and Your Oxford Group in real estate, bringing a host of credentials of his own: over 35 years as joint owner of the Finished and Unfinished Furniture Center of El Paso; six-year Board member of the Better Business Bureau of El Paso; professional bowler, inducted into the El Paso Hall of Fame in April of 2006; Sprint-car owner/racer and survivor of two major wipeouts and – a bit tamer- golfer, most recently achieving the only hole-in-one in over ten years of El Paso charity golf tournaments. Given his broad range of interests, Dave has a significant sphere of influence to tap. Peggy and Dave provide service in the community as well. From volunteering for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and the American Red Cross to spearheading canned food drives and arroyo clean-up efforts to organizing care package donations for soldiers serving overseas, they keep the people and the greater community foremost in their hearts and thoughts. Peggy said, “It’s a privilege to help”. Given the humanity, service and professionalism of Peggy and Dave Oxford, if you follow in their footsteps, you will be taking A Step in the Right Direction.
